Mr. CHANDRA BABU NAIDU – You do ‘NOT’ deserve Andhra Pradesh!

Hello people!

It took me quite a bit of research to get my facts right for this. Keeping in mind the sensitivity of the issue, I didn’t want to go behind bars – haha. Well, so before I start off with anything, to those of you who are finding this Greek and Latin, here are a few things you need to know –

# ANDHRA PRADESH is India’s eighth largest state, on the country’s southeastern coast. (This was where MOM was launched. 🙂 – rings a bell now?)

# VIJAYAWADA is the state’s de facto capital, after the separation of TELANGANA State.

# CHANDRA BABU NAIDU is the state’s Chief Minister; and the president of the ruling party, TELUGU DESAM PARTY (T.D.P).

And now, I’m addressing Mr. Naidu. Sir, you do NOT deserve the state.

NO! NO! NO! A very big N-O! Here’s why –

1)  He was the state’s youngest assembly member and youngest minister at 28.

He was a student leader in Chandragiri, near Tirupati; after which he was appointed as the ‘technical education and cinematography minister’ in Tanguturi Anjaiah’s government. He was in the INC cabinet back then.

P.S, It was then that he got in touch with N.T.Rama Rao, popularly known as N.T.R, a renowned film star in Telugu Cinema; after which he married N.T.R’s second daughter, Bhuvaneswari.

2) He rallied the TDP MLA’s together, and paraded them before the PRESIDENT of India.

In August 1984, when Nadendla Bhaskara Rao staged a coup against NTR, this is what Chandra Babu did. #Salute!

It was after this that NTR was reinstated as the State’s Chief Minister, 31 days later.

With this, Chandra Babu Naidu was made General Secretary of the party.

3) He was Andhra Pradesh’s longest serving Chief Minister from 1995-2004 (over nine years).

From September 1, 1995 to May 14, 2004 – he was in office for 3378 days.

4) He was named “SOUTH ASIAN OF THE YEAR” by the TIME Magazine, USA.

Aparisim Ghosh of the magazine commented, “In just five years, he has turned an impoverished, rural backwater place into India’s new information-technology hub”.

He raised power tariffs and slashed food subsidies.

5) He was described as one of the “hidden seven working wonders” around the world.

This was done by Profit (Oracle Corporation’s monthly magazine).

6) He promoted WOMEN EMPOWERMENT.

He initiated ‘Women Self Help Movement’ in Rural Andhra Pradesh and propagated it to the World Dignitaries.

He has supported various SHG’s in the past. His wife, Bhuvaneswari started a venture titled “HERITAGE FOODS” with a meagre 4 crore capital, which now has a turnover of over 2,000 crores.

Good enough testimony, eh? 🙂

7) He asked the rural people to work and contribute towards SHG’s, and did not promise FREE amenities.

(Again your fault, Mr. Naidu! Asking them to work was a mistake. You should have implemented SCHEMES that would have enabled a lot of CORRUPT people to get their share of money, like the Aarogya Sri. That’s what people like – CORRUPTION 🙂 )

Velugu, a programme introduced in six districts, aided by $111 million from the World Bank, provided additional funds, enabling SHGs to hire skilled people instead of being dependent on free services from NGOs.

This took empowerment one step further. Velugu also financed a Community Investment Fund for small local infrastructure.

8) He is why the “Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad” is Asia-Pacific’s Best Airport (and) the World’s 5th Best Airport.

This Awesome project not only took off Hyderabad to amazing heights, but also boosted GVK and GMR- both Hyderabad based Indian companies, to an International level for building airports for countries like Turkey, Indonesia and Maldives.

The Delhi Airport also tied up with GMR to build a modern Terminal (Terminal-3), while the Mumbai and Bangalore Airports tied up with GVK to modernize their airports by implementing Hyderabad airport’s standards and model.

The documents always had the name as “Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao International Airport”, which was changed to “Rajiv Gandhi International Airport” by Y.S.Raja Shekar Reddy, the CM of the state when the Airport was all ready.

9) He made Hyderabad the “Technical Hub” of India.

He invited dignitaries like Bill Clinton (President of the United States, back then) and Tony Blair (Prime Minister of UK, at that time) to Hyderabad, and also beckoned global IT companies like Oracle, Deloitte, Dell and IBM to invest in his state.

To top it all, he coined the slogan, “Bye bye Bangalore, Hello Hyderabad” to further his aim. Haha! Talk of STYLE and ELAN.

10) He has won numerous awards and accolades for his development strategies as the Chief Minister.

Some of which include –

IT Indian of the Millennium’ from India Today,

Business Person of the Year by The Economic Times,

South Asian of the Year from Time Asia (and)

Membership in the World Economic Forum’s Dream Cabinet.

11) He went out of his way to extend support to the HUDHUD victims in Visakhapatnam.

# Promised to restore power in three days

# Reprimanded the sale of goods at exorbitant prices (A 1 litre mineral water bottle was sold for 90 bucks – #true story)

# Stayed in Vizag and slogged for the city’s relief for FIVE days

# Gave free ration and reduced Vegetable and Milk Prices

# Gifted one lakh trees to counter the deforestation that the cyclone had caused and also cancelled cracker licenses

# Summoned Telecommunication Operators to establish networks and lines, so that victims could communicate with their loved ones.

# Announced Rs.5 Lakh for victims and Rs.1 Lakh to the injured

and the list goes on.

12) Planning to implement CHICAGO and SINGAPORE’s Architecture while rebuilding the capital in Vijayawada.

Okay, so, if you’re an architecture freak, you’d have heard tales about Chicago and Singapore and their age-old history with beautiful buildings.

The idea is that they will build skyscrapers in the Chicago or Singapore’s style, in the shape of the three letters NTR or the 13 letters of Andhra Pradesh, along both the sides of River Krishna.

Mr.Naidu also had talks concerning this matter with Singapore Ex-Prime Minister, Chalk Tang, on September 8th.

13) He introduced the “Victory” signature wave.

Okay now, this is S-W-A-G! 😀

I’m the biggest fan of the “V” wave.

Now, this man has some attitude, okay! Kudos, Mr. Naidu !

So, yeah, Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu – “You do NOT deserve Andhra Pradesh”.

I have NO idea why you weren’t re-elected as the Chief Minister in 2005, and I guess I don’t even want to know.

I don’t even know if you’ll win the 2019 election, but all said and done – You do NOT deserve Andhra Pradesh, Sir. It doesn’t!

I take this opportunity to SALUTE you for the phenomenal work you’ve been doing all these years. I admire you for your thought behind “Vision 2020” and for the revolutionary leader that you are. RESPECT, Sir.

    1. I am sorry but I have already mentioned that the only reason I mentioned his negatives was because I believe he is the best leader the state has, right now. No other motive 🙂
Every politician has drawbacks. Sadly, we live in India. We can’t do anything but choose the best from the worst.
      That’s what I did.
90% of the works being done is a great thing, Sir 🙂 – atleast he has done something. Things take time to happen.
My family and friends in Vizag have experienced Naidu’s wonderful deeds. I did NOT go by media news. I wrote it out of personal interactions 🙂
Thank you for commenting, and sorry if this post hurt your intentions.

    3. Hello Mr. Madhukar, everyone in this world, or at least people in AP, know that it was only CBN not interested to give his opinion on bifurcation.. in fact all the parties & media were pointing at him as if he was doing some sin for not giving his opinion.. And finally just to avoid everyone’s focus on this he drafted that letter and which clearly had no resolution steps and the same was countered by the rest of all other parties… I dont know if you were sleeping at that moment. It was not CBN’s letter but it was the genious KCR’s play which fooled all of you.. Now it is too late to discuss on this.. I too agree that CBN has a very great vision but not at all confident that he can go without backening most of the corrupted MLAs, MPs, etc..

He made the foot print of Andhra Pradesh in the world’s IT market.

  2. Just Loved the Article. I’ll add one more point, Today iam a Software engineer came from rural area, just bcoz of Mr.Naidu, and people of already tasted the swwt and salt on last 2 decades. They elected Mr.Naidu and TDP from 1994 – 2004 and saw the growth. Elected some un named leaders from other parties saw the downfall. But this time they selected right option by selecting Mr.Naidu as CM of AP. Latest HUD HUD helping activities are the best example how Naidu works.

Thanks Vaishnavi Roy. Great Article from you end on CBN. Kudos.

  3. Very impressive!!! 🙂

I really admire him for helping the youth of Andhra Pradesh to get both direct and indirect jobs in Hyderabad city and in fact I am one of those youth :). Otherwise, we had to go to nearby states to seek employment and stay away from our home.

I still feel that both the telugu states should sit together and resolve differences instead of throwing allegations against each other every other day. I would like to see both states to compete in development. I hope to see both CM’S talk to each other like they did when the Governor invited them. We should have mutual understanding instead of mutual hatred against each other. Anyways, I think I am moving away from the point 🙂

I really wish that Vijayawada also develops into a world class city with CBN as CEO 🙂

People have mixed views over it.
Some people criticize him, while others say it’s good he did it because he opposed NTR’s wife who eventually went on to kill him.
All said and done, CBN regrets it today.
      So, let’s forgive him. 🙂

You can see all the states of India following in his foot steps. specially Janma Bhoomi program and electricity sector reforms. Narendra Modi implemented the electricity reforms envisaged by CBN and received applause from every one. Which lead to Namo becoming PM of India.

Clearly you titled your article in a clever manner and isn’t it quite obvious that your article is getting all the attention it is becuase of the title. Everybody knows that he has developed Hyderabad to a world class city but do remember that erstwhile Andhra was not just comprising of Hyderabad but a lot of other cities, town and villages. Sure the educated folks of Andhra got better means to earn a great living in Hyderabad what about those who aren’t educated. Guess the educated ones like us aren’t educated enough to understand the needs of the uneducated who also live amongst us. Any dumb bloke can understand that he won cos people thought tthat no matter what he would do there is a loan waiver mentioned in his agenda. Oh well guess what matters now is that he is our CM and to believe that he would take our entire state forward into the unknown realm of betterment. Remember the state not a city.

If we see few leaders in other states, still blaming parties for their current problems, despite having good share of income, and power in hand. Mr. CBN does not waste time in such unproductive stuff.

All I believe is, he will make AP a best place for living as well as business operations. We, the educated need to think in modern way, not biased by the religion, cast, community, etc.

First, thank you for taking time out to write all this.
Second, I do not disagree that CBN is not flawed. Ofcourse he is, but my point is WHO IS NOT? 🙂
He is corrupt, but who is not?
All I’m saying is that we should appreciate his efforts.
Agriculture will not increase our GDP and give jobs to millions. And now that we’re a new state, the first priority is IT. He’s taken Hyd from scratch to new heights.
So, although he has his own demerits, I think we should atleast appreciate what he has done.

I’m not a CBN fan or supporter. I respect YSR also for whatever he has done.
But the only reason I wrote this is because some people hate CBN too much. I don’t think he’s that bad. That’s my only point. 🙂

Silly reason Mam… There were no rains at that time is fact as told by you and As there were no rains many farmers cultivated the land depending up on ground water but what CBN did is he added fuel to fire by increasing Power tariffs in state which added more burden on farmers who cultivated land on bore water.

Another small thing I want to share with you about the love of CBN on farmers:

In Kadapa district a project named Brahma Sagar near by Brahmamgari matam was started by Late NTR which mainly depends upon back waters of Srisailam project. This project main aim was to supply drinking water to Chennai city and to supply water for irrigation to 2lac acres of land in districts of Kadapa & Kurnool.

Before 1995 70% percent of work has been finished by both NTR’s as well as next Congress govt. But after CBN took CM’s chair that project was completely neglected and a drop hasn’t come from Srisailam back water upto 9yrs,As soon as YSR became CM he completed the project in a span of 2yrs from that time on wards the project is full of water providing water for cultivation and also due to water storage the ground water levels has been increased drastically around surrounding villages.

What my request is please post the bad things along with good things did by CBN or anybody & they will try to rectify their mistakes happened in past unfortunately if they see your post…

      4. Like I said, I’m “NO” supporter of TDP.
I just believe in the progress of the state.
The ONLY reason I did NOT mention his negatives is because I feel there is no better person in the state than Naidu now.
Everyone has negatives. So, why mention them when the state is in a crisis after separation?
        Let’s be more optimistic 🙂

      5. Hi Thank you for replying my previous comment. And I appriciate you for your friendly, Positive and sportive responses 🙂

        1. Well there are many other polititions in the country and also in the State other than BABU and Babus 🙂 we should all also agree the fact that babu is also worst— so we always compare many among worst coz we dont have no choice left to elect from these worst ( i agree 🙂 )

        2. There is no possibility of liking anyone or hating anyone and yes in my views and (also many others think )Babu is not a fit CM.

        3. Other than ‘Babus’– there are many other good leaders which we dont know because media will only show what these Babus want and all are run by these Babus so where is the chance for other good leaders to prove??????? and for this reason we are used to these ‘Babus’ and we are forced to manupilate the facts.

        4. My request is that you should also keep an observation of politics how are they run in Andhra Pradesh— I am totally against the cast and all but in TDP it has been always a big time. (And if you are not from the same cast they would boicott you saying NON-C.) can find out anywhere you want. first thing they want to know about a stranger is if he is a ‘C’ or ‘NON-C’ which I dont like and many others too.

        4. Biggest RACIESTS ever i know. and there are many other choices other than BABUs all we need to do is find that Leader and give him a chance

        5. There is no point of taking a positive approach about me because i am very positiv, clear and open.

        Thanks and Best Regards

        Raj

P.S: This would be my last reply, I may not reply to this forum anymore since I find it not very intresting. Sorry all if atall my comments disturbs you and makes you feel bad. (These views of mine has come out of my Bad experiences with ‘Cs’)

You can reply to this. It is a completely normal discussion. 🙂
I’ll leave that upto you anyway.
I guage that you do not like the party at all.
If you feel there is someone better than Mr. Naidu, I truly wish you find him and he comes out in the open.
I’d be the first one to vote for him. 🙂
Let’s pray for the progress of A.P – forget NAIDU and other leaders.
        Cheers!

  16. Excellent post supporting CBN all the way.Can you clarify me the following points about CBN & his ruling:

1.At the time CBN took the position of CM of AP i.e’, 1995 AP is in 3rd position in IT exports throughout the country. If he did extra ordinary development in IT sector why the Position of AP in IT Exports went to 5th in the year 2004?.These records are official records which you can check.

2.If CBN is having lot of respect or trust on NTR why he didn’t join TDP during party establishment. For your information maximum people in AP trusted NTR in 1983 & brought TDP into power but CBN contested as a Congressmen in elections & lost the election in 1983 then he left congress and joined TDP.If he didn’t loose he never joins TDP.

3.He is person who is in CM chair of AP for longest time, but he had own only one election with his ruling(1999) that too with BJP alliance like in 2014.

4.You mentioned He with his wife Bhuvaneshwari developed a 4Cr heritage foods into 2000Cr company, but you don’t know how he dumped Chittor dairy a Govt Enterprise for the sake of Heritage.

5.You have to know one thing what ever job you do a big or a small finally food you have to eat.During his regime drought hit badly entire AP along with that CBN has raised power which made farmers to commit suicides with increasing debts.

6.Can you mention one Industrial Hub(Other than IT around HYD) developed during CBN’s term.Take Example of Gujarat why it was developed all round without IT also because a core industry will provide employment to an Engineer,Diploma holder,ITI person, daily labourer and many Indirect employment which is called as all round development, but with IT industry mostly Engineering graduates will benefit.

7.You mentioned Hyderabad Airport construction has been started by CBN but the credit took by YS.Same way let you know Hitech city(cyber towers) were sanctioned by N.Janardhan Reddy but now CBN claims he only fully responsible for IT development,Please don’t forget the importance of the then PM’s Rajeev Gandhi,P V Narasimha Rao for IT revolution in India which was opposed by regional parties especially by TDP.

Finally Vision 20-20 which you mentioned http://www.rediff.com/money/2000/feb/18naidu.htm please open this link and see how a swiss minister slammed CBN infornt of him on his vision 20-20.

So many more points are still there to mention But one thing CBN is CM who ruling has equal more negatives than positives which are being shadowed by Media supporting him.

    1. Thank You for writing to TRL.
I salute you for your amazing research on the issue. It shows how well learnt you are. 🙂
The ONLY reason behind me writing this article and mentioning only the positives is to let people know that there is NO better leader than CBN in the state now. Ofcourse, every person has negatives. We all know this. But I don’t see any person better than him for the CM post, currently. That’s all.
If there was, I’d have supported him.
For me, the progress of the state matters the most. Not YSR or CBN.
I’m glad you have a vision so clear. Motivated people like you should rise and do something for the state.
      Good luck! 🙂

  17. Hi Vaish..!!

This indeed a great article.. In person I’m not a great admirer of CBN Gaaru.. till 2012.. Being an optimist I wanted a better leader than him… and supported JP.. Later.. I went with the situation.. Did some research on the work done during his period.. to my surprise.. he achieved more that what he showcased..
And now I support him with any second thought.. and his efforts during the HUD HUD!! it just added more respect..

No Words.. and no one is in reach to this visionary leader!!

    Take a Bow.. SIR!!

  18. Vaishnavi, as an article writer you have done it extremely well. But I feel either you should have researched further more and come out with an impartial facts. Most of the +ves that we see or listen are all trumpeted by his supporting media houses. Due to this biased propaganda by these Media (for their own interests) people have not really knew the facts. He is extremely intolerant towards Forming and lifted the central govt subsidy on Drip irrigation. Govt agricultural forms, Dairies such as Chittur and Vijay are devastated to benefit his own company Heritage. Many people here say the development means building HIGH RAISING GLASS BUILDINGS, ENTERTAINMENT PARKS, I MAX, such a corporate or commercial establishments. Is this what you too call the DEVELOPMENT? In what way the life of the Common Man is changed? The COUNTRY is PEOPLE, only when peoples average minimum living conditions raise then we can say we are developing.
Why the hell always CBN is compared with YSR and his arogya shree? If arogya shree is a scam, much publicised JANMABHOOMI is way bigger scam. It is very unfortunate that CBN has the media houses, die hard supporters who cover up all his mis deeds, where as YSR or any other politician doesn’t have.
    Here is just glimpse of what outside world thinks of CBN;

    1. Hey Madan.
Firstly, thank you so much for the compliment.
What I like about you is that you took time out to appreciate my writing even though you did not agree with what I wrote.
Thanks a lot. I have found respect for you.

Two, I agree. There is no doubt. CBN has his own flaws.
I’m no CBN supporter. I don’t even follow him on social media. LOL.

Three, the ONLY reason I wrote this was because CBN is the man in power. If YSR was here, I’d have done it on him. 🙂

Four, all I’m trying to say is that we should appreciate the one in power until we have a better choice. There is already so much hatred in the world, we don’t need more, do we? 🙂

I hope I did not offend your opinions. If I did, I want to apologise.
Thanks again for taking time out to write, and also, do follow the blog for further updates. 🙂
